Work went pretty well today. It's been a bit crazy, but it's going well overall. Starting Sunday night, I decided to put God first in my
leisure time. Instead of checking my email first thing in the morning, I have decided to spend
uninterrupted time in the Word and pick a verse to memorize/mediate on throughout the day. Instead of checking email first thing when I get home from school or work, spending more time in the Word reviewing what I read in the morning. Instead of checking my email and then going to bed, the very last thing is spending time in the Word. In the two days that I have
implemented this, I have already seen a change in my heart. My focus is much more naturally on Him. The things I say and do are more centered around Him. His Word really does transform the heart and mind, and honestly, I've been missing out on some of the blessings of that. I need more time in the Word! It is truth! This morning, I woke up early had had the opportunity to listen to a sermon before work. What an encouragement to my heart! The last two days, I have been meditating on these verses:
Psalm 90:12 – So teach us to number our days, that we may present to You a heart of wisdom.
Psalm 91:2 – I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!”
I am reminded that I don't know how long I'll live. I could die tonight... I really could. This adds a sense of urgency to being who God wants me to be... in this case, having a heart of wisdom to present to Him. The second verse is a good reminder to me of how great God is and that He is completely trust-worthy. I have no reason to doubt any of His plans for me as being the absolute best. I need to be constantly reminded of how great He is! Please keep me in prayer as I know that Satan isn't a big fan of people growing in the Lord.

Will be praying for you, Daniel!
I think I'll join you on the spending more time in the word rather than the computer... starting tonight. :)
A little while back, I too noticed that my "default settings" weren't putting God first, so I made a commitment to always read or quote at least a little Scripture first thing in the morning after I wake up, and when I go to sleep.
I have my quiet time scheduled first thing in the morning, but I wanted to make sure that I didn't give myself any little excuses like: "Well, I just need to check for this one important email really quickly, or I'm just going to do this little thing really fast."
"Technology overdose" seems to be a big "hard thing"—especially for young people—in this day and age.
May God grant us victory over this!
Thank you for being sensitive to the Spirit and making these changes. Your faithfulness, and some other things, have challenged me to make some changes in my life. :)
Keep up the good work!
